MINI Motoring

It's a MINI blog adventure.

More mini than a Mini
Royal Ford, Boston Globe
July 7, 2005 MICRO0707

They will swarm and flit into Boston like gnats, snarling and buzzing, blown here by a wind from the past out of Germany, Italy, England and countries that don't exist anymore.

These cars were smart before there was a brand called Smart.

They are microcars and minicars, and a microcar is to the modern Mini Cooper as a Mini Cooper is to a BMW X5. They are coming this weekend for the 10th annual Micro and Minicar Club gathering of New England aficionados, and as part of the 14th annual meeting of the national organization.

These are vehicles typically less than 13 feet long, with micros having engines of 500 cubic centimeters and smaller, and minis dropping from 1,000 cc.
